The personal sleep surface industry has spent the last decade promising mattresses that "remember your body." In the Wittyverse, that promise has always been literal, and the results have been mixed. After receiving 340 consumer complaints to the Bureau of Bedding and Nocturnal Standards (B.B.N.S.) in the last quarter alone, ranging from "my mattress won't stop bringing up my ex" to "the nightstand knows things," our office undertook a full comparative review of six leading memory foam models currently on the market.

We purchased all six units at retail price. None of the manufacturers were informed of the review, though two of them apparently already knew, which we will address.

METHODOLOGY

Each mattress was subjected to the B.B.N.S. Standard Recall Protocol (SRP-11), a 14-night assessment evaluating comfort, spinal alignment, recall accuracy, discretion rating, data retention period, information-sharing behavior, and factory-reset compliance. Testing was conducted at the Bureau's Nocturnal Evaluation Facility in Kettlevane by a rotating panel of four certified sleep assessors. All assessors completed pre-trial cognitive baselines and surrendered a sealed envelope containing one verified childhood memory, one mild personal regret, and one fact they had never told anyone. The mattresses were given no access to these envelopes. Two of them produced the contents anyway.
